In
our Ambient department you'll find a variety of instrumental
music taken from our main database of over 12,500 titles available
worldwide. It's a wide selection of material and draws from the
90's 'Ambient', 'Techno' & 'Trance' markets - and indeed beyond.
By 'Ambient', we refer to music in the spacey, dance-derived,
melodic, rhythmic 'chill-out' styles, by groups such
as The Orb in 1992 and Biosphere. This variant of
'Electronic Music' has evolved over a number of years to
encompass many groups and individual artists and covers an even
wider range of music within the genre - a form of 'EM' that is multi-layered
and uplifting, mainly with melodies and rhythms, sometimes just
atmospheric, but nevertheless an enjoyable form of 'serious listening
music' on its own. We've also included a wide variety of the more
dance-derived instrumental electronic music albums around - from
Psychedelic and Goa-Trance through Techno and
Minimalist to Drum'n'Bass and beyond, covering what we term
as the "cream of the crop" and not simply everything that
is released.
You'll find music CDs by the likes of: Appaloosa, Apollo
