Sadly, with the death of Edgar Froese – bandleader and undisputed Grandfather of the “Electronic Music” genre - just prior to the release of this triple album, ‘Supernormal’ is set to remain as the one and only live legacy of TANGERINE DREAM in what was the newly formed 2014 line-up of: Edgar Froese, Thorsten Quaeschning (synths), violinist Hoshiko Yamane, and modern electronica-credible: Ulrich Schnauss!

20.000 miles from Vienna to Down Under and back, this recording was captured when TANGERINE DREAM were on one of their little adventure tours, and enjoyed a marvellously calm flight with Qantas and Emirates, crossing the outback and the rainforest up to Cairns in the very north of Australia.

The band’s new line-up gave their first concerts of “The Quantum Years” Down Under, where they can be heard ‘live’ for the first time with new band mate: Ulrich Schnauss.
Of course it was too early to deliver The Quantum Years at full speed musically, plus the premier of the new experimental technology - which was ready to go for Europe in 2015 - could not be completely set up and utilized because of the astronomical cargo costs involved, but you will hear the big pipe organ of the Melbourne Town Hall played by Edgar and Thorsten, as well as some new instruments played by Hoshiko. The whole atmosphere is different because of the new line-up, even where some of the well-known TD tunes are performed.
After the two CD’s containing the Melbourne Town Hall concert, you will find a 3rd Disc compiled from the best compositions played in celebration of the two ‘Sorcerer’ concerts performed at the ACMI Melbourne (Australian Centre For The Moving Image) from the same tour in November 2014, and featuring the most modern and sound-wise futuristic equipped cinema that exists in Australia.

But that’s not all … together with the 3CD Set comes an amazing 52-Page Din A4 XL Booklet (the style of which you already know from the ‘Phaedra Farewell Tour’ 3CD set) and through the photography therein you will become a travel and concert companion during TD’s visit to the other side of planet Earth!

‘Supernormal’ was released on 16th February 2015.
