For over forty years The MOODY BLUES have been one of the most enduring and consistent groups in the World. Their recorded legacy contains some of the most important and ground breaking work in the history of popular music, having generated over 55 million sales throughout the world, earning them an enviable place in rock history.

As a member of The MOODY BLUES since 1966, John Lodge has written some of the most memorable songs for the band such as the hits: ‘Ride My See Saw’, ‘The Eyes Of A Child’, ‘Isn’t Life Strange’, ‘I’m Just A Singer {In A Rock & Roll Band}’, ‘Steppin’ In A Slide Zone’, ‘Gemini Dream’ and many more.

‘10,000 Light Years Ago’ is John’s second solo album - his first being 1977’s: ‘Natural Avenue’, which was reissued on CD and Vinyl LP in 2014 by Esoteric Recordings.
Recorded at various locations and completed at The Mix Factory studios in Florida, the album features guest contributions from former MOODY BLUES members: Ray Thomas and Mike Pinder, plus legendary guitarist Chris Spedding among others.

This a record firmly rooted in the MOODY BLUES legacy. ‘10,000 Light Years Ago’ features some of the finest songs of John’s impressive career. From the album’s opening song: ‘In My Mind’ to the closing epic title track, ‘10,000 Light Years Ago’ presents John Lodge painting a variety of moods on a fine musical canvas.
