This is the beautiful, eagerly anticipated solo album by Christina Booth, the wonderful lead singer with Symphonic Progressive Rock band MAGENTA!

Featuring Rob Reed (also of MAGENTA – keyboards / guitar / bass) and Andy Edwards (drums), ‘The Light’ is an emotion-fuelled collection of nine beautifully written and performed songs, all penned together by Christina and Robert, with all the lyrics coming from the hand of the singer herself.

The songs on ‘The Light’ have strong leads and haunting, infectious choruses, most with lovely keyboard orchestrations to accompany them. The overall feel of the backings are, if anything, stripped back, allowing each and every instrument to shine through in the mix, whilst carefully ensuring they never overpower the quality of Christina’s tender and touching vocal tones.
With the emphasis being firmly on the gentler side of things, and melodic arrangements with an ethereal quality, ‘The Light’ should appeal to all MAGENTA fans as well as those of other female led Symphonic Prog bands, also stretching out towards a wider audience from the singer/songwriter fraternity.

Also featured on the album are: Fran Murphy (backing vocals), Chris Fry (MAGENTA - guitar), Dan Nelsen (fretless bass), John Mitchell (FROST / IT BITES – guitar / vocals) Andy Tillison (TANGENT – Hammond organ) and Theo Travis (Steven Wilson Band / TANGENT – saxophone / flute).

The CD packaging is superb too, with the On-Body Picture CD contained within a Laminated Gatefold Card Cover accompanied by a 12-Page Colour Booklet complete with lyrics and credits etc.
