Prolific Ukrainian musician Atony Kalugin has three prominent Progressive Rock projects available via CDS Towers – the symphonic instrumental ENID-esque KARFAGEN, HOGGWASH, and SUNCHILD, where he leads a band delivering an excellent brand of melodic Prog-rock that is filled with attention-grabbing atmosphere and plenty in the way of infectious hooks!

Released in May 2015, ‘Synesthesia’ contains a set of 12 strong, high quality songs that feature excellent vocals (in perfect English) and brilliant playing to back them all up.
Atony Kalugin is a truly talented musician / songwriter that first came to our notice for his work with the magnificent Symphonic Prog instrumental music of KARFAGEN, and that has since introduced us to the works of SUNCHILD, a project that delivers a more song-based style of melodic Prog.
To give you an idea of the regions where the music of SUNCHILD resides – it is very roughly spread over the likes of say: Steven Wilson, PINK FLOYD and CAMEL, with the emphasis being firmly on a more melodic, soft-rock approach that I find extremely enjoyable, especially as even when the music itself is great, there are no weak points to put up with like dodgy vocals or lyrics - so, it’s an all-round excellent, high quality performance from this outfit.

Political unrest in the Ukraine may have delayed the recording of this album, but as always Kalugin has delivered another crop of quality tracks to savour.
Boasting one of the best back catalogues in the business. Kalugin never rests on his laurels as he once again fearlessly pursues the ultimate Prog song, whilst looking for that wider audience that will ensure the music remains alive and kicking for many years to come.
