Amazing reinterpretations of classic recordings that are a first – no one has dared take on Gabriel’s material at this level before… the result is incredible!

I had heard very little of the SECURITY PROJECT prior to putting this CD in the player – I didn’t even look at the sleeve notes - and so I was not aware what it actually was? To be totally honest, I thought it was going to be a new Prog or Jazz-Rock outfit from Eastern Europe, so imagine my surprise when I pressed the play button to hear (or thought I was hearing) Peter Gabriel’s voice singing on the opening track! Then I quickly looked at the album sleeve notes and was totally gobsmacked to find that these songs all looked familiar – Yes, they are all pieces of Peter Gabriel’s solo material! It was when I started reading the sleeve credits that the penny really dropped … this band was virtually built from parts of Peter Gabriel’s backing band without the man himself, but featuring a stunning cloned Gabriel voice courtesy of one Brian Cummins, and while I’ve heard many great Gabriel sound-a-like voices in my time listening to GENESIS tribute bands, this guy is in another league … at one point I thought he WAS Peter Gabriel!!!
How did I manage to miss this?!?!

So, SECURITY PROJECT is actually made up of members of KING CRIMSON, SHRIEKBACK and Gabriel’s original band, and they bring these genre-less masterpieces into the 21st Century.
Seattleites Trey Gunn and Michael Cozzi join esteemed drummer Jerry Marotta and NY keyboardist David Jameson to harness the core of these songs. Added to the pedigree of these players is the voice of Brian Cummins. His interpretations add haunting authenticity to the immaculate arrangements.
