Erik Norlander is a long established, multi-talented, flamboyant rock keyboardist and music producer/engineer.
He is America’s equivalent of Keith Emerson & Rick Wakeman rolled into one… both in terms of playing styles and the types of keyboards used, because Norlander has one hell of a massive arsenal of analogue and digital gear!

Erik is also an integral part of the US Prog band: ROCKET SCIENTISTS, and he is married to top rock songstress Lana Lane, on who’s albums he performs and produces!

Erik and Lana, as well as the ROCKET SCIENTISTS, have been long time firm favourites with CDS Towers Prog and Rock customers for almost twenty years now, so it is with great excitement that we offer you this new 2016 Erik Norlander solo album … so be prepared to be blown away by ‘Surreal’!!

After two recent highly-acclaimed releases with his ROCKET SCIENTISTS project, Norlander now presents ‘Surreal’, his 7th solo album - the follow-up to his 2009 solo epic: ‘Galactic Collective’.
‘Surreal’ continues in that spirit with traditional rock band instrumentation fronted by Norlander’s own timeless, signature keyboards. The album gives both a nod to the past and puts an eye on the future with lush analogue soundscapes, real living human grooves, and unforgettable melodic lead work that will keep the songs playing in your head long after the music stops.
Like ‘Galactic Collective’, ‘Surreal’ is mostly an instrumental affair with 5 tracks driven by keyboard and guitar melodies. But there is a 6th sixth song - the title track - that features vocals by Norlander’s chanteuse spouse: Lana Lane.

The music on ‘Surreal’ is A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. - fantastic, finely crafted, melodic, hard driving, meticulously arranged instrumental rock featuring all your favourite classic keyboard sounds (Hammond organ, Mellotron, Mini-Moog & big Moog and a whole lot more) with a real ‘live’ sounding punchy production.
