This Scandinavian band have everything a fan of symphonic Prog could want … long epic tracks, classic analogue keyboards, soaring guitars & driving bass!

Not the best name for a band in the world I know, but don’t let that put you off, because WOBBLER are one stunning band that should have been around in the thick of seventies Prog scene and they sure as damn it try to sound like that is the era they are playing in!

Coming in 4 Editions (two CD’s and two Vinyl LP’s), ‘From Silence To Somewhere’ offers up a sound that at times is the nearest thing you’ll hear to that of the first two KING CRIMSON albums: ‘Court Of The Crimson King’ and ‘In The Wake Of Poseidon’ and other times ‘Close To The Edge’ YES!

WOBBLER are an enigmatic, multi-flavoured and adventurous band that uses copious amounts of Mellotron, Moog, Hammond, Chamberlin and other classical analogue keyboards … and of course the renowned hard-driving sound of the Rickenbacker bass!

Their music is highly adventurous and entirely original, but when the arrangements veer towards the complex, echoes of classis YES definitely come to mind. The Hammond organ work is fantastic, almost Emerson-eque in places, then when it’s full-on Mellotron waves, it’s early KING CRIMSON that hold the mantle.

However, WOBBLER are no copyist band, it’s just the sounds coming from these vintage ”Prog” instruments, the arrangements and the vocal harmonies that make you think of the aforementioned classic 70’s bands.
Another important element – as always – are the vocals, and when these are in play, they are very good indeed, with little or no accenting around to spoil the show, and excellent harmonies and leads that tend to linger in the higher register Anderson-esque bracket. On the final track these move through into GENTLE GIANT as the arrangement start to touch on the renaissance period.

As with their previous albums, WOBBLER devotes large passages of their music to instrumental workouts.
The guitar riffs move from poignant to edgy, and melancholy harmonies combine with powerful crescendos and high-energy, spinet-driven passages to produce an album comprising four epic tracks that explore the idea of metamorphosis and alchemy.

‘From Silence To Somewhere’ is a natural continuation from WOBBLER’s previous albums, but with a slightly darker, more introspective edge, and I would thoroughly recommend it to fans of classic 70’s Prog!

This CD comes with a 12-Page Full-Colour Booklet with lyrics, painting, band picture and details.
