After recent times playing with CAMEL & Francis Dunnery, this talented multi-instrumentalist has now released his 3rd album under the TMT moniker!

Firstly, if you haven’t heard TMT music before, you need to know this … if you enjoy melodic, complex Progressive Rock with a modern twist that brings in hints of GENESIS, Steve Hackett, CAMEL, ARENA and FROST, you are going to enjoy TIGER MOTH TALES music.

After his time playing live with Andrew Latimer’s CAMEL, I have to say the influence of a conceptual work such as: ‘The Snow Goose’ has certainly rubbed of on TMT’s highly talented Progressive multi-instrumentalist Peter Jones!

Following on from the success of his critically acclaimed Neo-Prog epic: ‘Cocoon’ and it’s follow-up ‘Storytellers-Part 1’ (both issued in 2015), 2017’s ‘Depths Of Winter’ is the 3rd. album and the first since featuring in CAMEL’s live line-up. It is an album based on winter concepts and stories, which take place in the winter season, and there are a number of different themes are explored, including seasonal folk tales and characters such as the Ojibwe wind spirit, Biboon, the Viking legends of Baldr, Loki and Frigga, and the death of English folklore hero Robin Hood.
As with the two previous TMT albums, ‘Depths Of Winter’ includes a broad range of musical feelings and emotions, from the darkness of a grim fight for survival in: ‘Winter Maker’ and the terrible senses described in: ‘Exposure’ – a track based of the Wilfred Owen poem of the same name, to the warmer feel good pieces such as the joyous and exuberant: ‘Sleigh Ride’ and the incredibly infectious (and CAMEL-like) closing track: ‘Hygge’.
Other compelling tracks are: ‘Migration’ - a piece about a migrating animal that becomes separated from it’s group and ends up lost and alone in unfamiliar surroundings, plus: ‘Take The Memory’ - a piece about losing loved ones over the yuletide season.

There are some really nice extended instrumental sections along the way with plenty fantastically fluid and high-energy synth soloing and melodic, high register guitar work to enjoy. Peter Jones rich vocal talent is similar in style to the likes of Paul Carrack, as he delivers some excellent vocal arrangements on ‘Depths Of Winter’. To assist Peter Jones (vocals / keyboards / guitars / clarinet, recorder, ukulele, drum programming and percussion), there are guest spots for: Luke Machin (of MASCHINE & TANGENT – guitar), Emma Friend (flute) and Jamie Ambler (voice over), plus a small brass section is featured on parts of two tracks.

‘Depths Of Winter’ clocks in at just over 70-minutes and this CD edition comes in a beautifully illustrated Gatefold Card Sleeve with a 12-Page Booklet included.

‘Depths Of Winter’ was released on 20th November 2017.
