Another breathing, dense & incredible musical experience of heavenly, atmospheric soundscaping & space-rock intensity by UK Prog-Space cadets.

When Suffolk based Progressive Psychedelic Space cadets the FUTURE KINGS OF ENGLAND’s released their 3rd album: ‘The Viewing Point’ is was their first full-length recording in two years and marked a transition in their sound by pushing towards the new and unexplored. It also found the group displaying unprecedented maturity and command of their instruments. Guitarist Ian Fitch, bassist Karl Mallett, drummer Simon Green and producer Steve Mann on keyboards, have returned to a totally instrumental landscape, taking the listener on an audio trek - from plaintive acoustic interludes to frighteningly dense musical pandemonium.
Conceptually ‘The Viewing Point’ is about a man's thoughts - pondering his past, present and uncertain future as he looks out to sea in his car. The album is self-produced by the band and features their trademark psychedelic sound and interstellar sonics, but also grounding themselves in reality.

In all, ‘The Viewing Point’ is an ecstatic aural thrill that everyone who invested in either of the two earlier albums is going to enjoy – and now it’s not only us people at CDS Towers that have extolled the virtues of this band… here’s some quotes from other reviewers on FKOE’s 2nd album ‘The Fate Of Old Mother Orvis’... “the pastoral Floyd, ’72 Genesis, the echosoup psychedelia of Amon Düül II – whipped together with an ardour that sounds like yesterday and tomorrow at once.” - Rolling Stone
“Psych-folk anyone? The Future Kings' second album delves into the dark history of their native Suffolk. Mostly instrumental, ...Mother Orvis is weirdly pastoral in spite of its psychedelic swirl, a strange yet compelling mix of the ancient and modern.” - Q Magazine
“Playing with the very fabric of time and space has a way of turning things topsy turvey, and once you get settled in it becomes clear the band may be travelling forward after all, just on another plane, in a parallel dimension, where dinosaurs still walk the earth, the sun rises in the west, dogs sit at the dinner table and the UFO Club never shut its doors.” - Pitchfork
