Originally issued on a Polydor LP in 1973 ‘Journey’ was this band’s 3rd and final release and one of the finest Psych/Space-Rock albums ever made!

This 2010 Remastered & Expanded edition of ‘Journey’ comes with a Bonus CD featuring 8 Extra Tracks made up of Rare Single Material, Alternate Mixes and recordings from a 1972 BBC Radio One John Peel Session.

Featuring Arthur Brown (Bentley drum machine / vocals), Andy Dalby (electric guitar / vocals), Phil Shutt (Fender bass / vocals / percussion) and the amazing Victor Peraino (Mellotron / piano / Mini-Moog & VCS3 synthesizers / theramin / percussion), this was one amazing band, and in ‘Journey’ they made one astoundingly brilliant Space-Rock album!

I had the great pleasure of witnessing this band play ‘live’ later in 1973, and for this concert they were using HAWKWIND’s light show, which was on loan for the night, which, when coupled with their mind-blowing music, this became a spectacle that made quite an impact on me at the time, and I’ve never been the same since! J
This incredible album contains some of the finest Mellotron, Mini Moog and VCS3 work you’ll ever hear on a Space-Rock album, as well as blistering electric guitars, with driving bass and “Bently” the drum machine providing a driving rhythm section. The album was co-produced by Dave Edmunds and is arguably their best-known work.
Again touching on the musical territory of fellow cosmos travellers HAWKWIND, ‘Journey’ was indeed a masterwork and is now rightly regarded as a classic by Space, Psych and Prog fans alike.
In my mind, ‘Spirit Of Joy’ was a better single than the huge Arthur Brown hit ‘Fire’ and you can hear the original single mix in all its glory, together with the album version and a BBC Session recording of the track.
‘Journey’ joins re-mastered editions of the ‘Kingdom Come’ and ‘Galactic Zoo Dossier’ albums.

ESSENTIAL music for all space cadets and then some!
