Highly regarded for his distinctive flute sound in the world of Progressive music, John Hackett is also a fine guitarist and vocalist. ‘Another Life’ is John’s long awaited new Rock album and is the follow-up to the critically acclaimed: ‘Checking Out Of London’ (released in 2005). On his new record John is joined by his brother Steve, plus ex-GENESIS guitarist/co-founder Anthony Phillips and Prog keyboard legend Nick Magnus who all contribute to the creation of an evocative musical landscape of powerful rock songs and rich melodies.
John Hackett is an accomplished soloist, guitarist, singer and composer, probably best known for his work with his brother Steve Hackett, the former GENESIS guitarist, and ambient group SYMBIOSIS.
He collaborated with brother Steve on his fist two solo albums: ‘Voyage Of The Acolyte’ and ‘Please Don’t Touch’, before leaving Sheffield University to work with Steve, who had just left GENESIS.
This led to further recordings and tours of the UK, USA and Europe as part of the Hackett band where he played flute, guitar and bass pedals alongside keyboardist Nick Magnus.
‘Another Life’ is released on 25th September 2015.
