PENTERAKT are Andy Bloyce and Tom Coppens, who, when working with Ruud Heij (FREE SYSTEM PROJEKT), form two thirds of the Berlin School trio that is KUBUSSCHNITT.
With a new KUBUSSCHNITT album with Ruud on board currently in the works, Andy and Tom have also been working on some other new music, and they have released it as a Limited Edition under the name: PENTERAKT.
The four tracks on ‘Conquest Of The Moon’ were created before, during, after and again during lockdown and passed between the duo - at which point it became difficult to tell who played what, as there’s quite a bit going on. There’s even a slightly different mastering method on this release, so it really is pointing to that future full release with all of that additional goodness that Ruud brings to the music.
All four tracks on are based around a live sequencer recording, with the other parts added after that initial recording. Only analogue synths were harmed during those initial sequencer recordings - after that, all bets were off, so it’s a real mixture of instruments.
So, while you wait for the next KUBUSSCHNITT album … if you want more brilliantly produced 70s TANGERINE DREAM influenced music in the Berlin School style – long tracks with superb sequencing and atmospheric soundscaping, together with a liberal scattering of melody on top, then this is essential!
