Multi-award winning electronica artist Christopher Von Deylen (aka SCHILLER), a former pupil of TANGERINE DREAM’s Thorsten Quaeschning, has now sold many millions of albums worldwide and collaborates with other international musicians on most of his releases. On ‘Summer In Berlin’ he has worked with - among others – his special friend and luminary from TANGERINE DREAM!

All Christopher’s albums have been consistent favourites of many CDS customers, but this Pure Deluxe 4-Disc Edition of ‘Summer In Berlin’ is a bit extra special for TANGERINE DREAM / Thorsten Quaeschning fans!

After the disastrous new release for this album back in Feb 2021 – easily one of our most troublesome releases in over 30 years of CDS history!!! – We can now offer this Limited PURE DELUXE DIGI-PAK Edition!
Only available in a very limited range of territories in Europe – certainly NOT the UK – but we have now sourced a reliable supplier for this 4-DISC SET it and it will now be with us mid-November 2021.
We will be fulfilling all our long existing pre-orders for the Super Deluxe Edition with this limited new version.

There is a difference to the original Super Deluxe Edition though, but all down to the packaging …
The Super Deluxe Edition has gone completely, but in limited territories it has been replaced with this new PURE DELUXE 10-PANEL DIGI-PAK Edition!
All the audio and visual tracks on the 4 discs are still the same – which is THE important thing, especially to TD and THORSTEN QUAESCHNING fans!

The 2 x BluRay discs in this set contain 4 Concert Film Performances that include the 44-minute Schiller & Quaeschning – ‘Behind Closed Doors – Part II’ set (exclusive to this 4-Disc edition) that Christopher and Thorsten did together last year at the Lichtsommer Live event, which was - I think - an outdoor drive-in style concert, plus ‘Live in the Studio’ Sessions, plus a whole lot more! ‘Behind Closed Doors – Part II’ is one of two sections on BluRay II that is available in Dolby Atmos Audio. 5.1 Surround is also featured.

On CD 1 Christopher and Thorsten play together: ‘Dem Hillmmel So Nah’, a 17-Minute+ studio piece of atmospheric / flowing / rhythmic music - a superb treat! As such, this 4-Disc set now offers TD fans a whole lot more to get excited about than was originally expected!
As well as that slice of EM excellence, there are another 13 New Studio Tracks on CD 1 of ‘Summer In Berlin’, including the brilliant instrumentals: ‘Metroplolis’, ‘Der Klang Der Stadt I & II’, ‘Liebe Aus Beton’ and ‘Der Golden Engel’. There’s also new songs such as: ‘Miracle’, featuring UK vocalist Tricia McTeague (a singer who has worked with Christopher before), ‘Better Now’ with vocalist Janet Devlin and ‘Summer In Berlin’ from Schiller x Alphaville.
The 2nd CD in this Deluxe 4-Disc Set (as does the standalone 2CD Edition) contains 14 Tracks recorded Live in Berlin, all taken from Schiller’s vast back-catalogue.

Christopher Von Deylen is a Synth musician that has taken all his influences from the 70’s EM pioneers and moulded them into his own sound that seems to have mass appeal to fans across the entire popular music spectrum. From Electronica through to Dance, SCHILLER music is addictively melodic and thoroughly infectious, and often highly rhythmically charged. His albums tend to feature a mix of extended and standard length instrumentals with the occasional song where he employs the talents of guest international vocalists.
The styles run from Chilled Melodic Soundscapes to Upbeat Rhythmic Workouts.
Being Synthesizer music buffs - and the fact that Klaus Schulze has been such a major influence on this artist’s earlier work - we at CDS Towers have been singing the praises of SCHILLER for some time, but despite his huge sales in Europe he has never quite taken off to a mass audience to the same degree in the UK and the US, although in 1998 the project's first release: ‘Das Glockenspiel’ turned out to be an instant international hit that has been one of the very few German productions entering the UK-charts top-three, and has since been remixed by legendary DJ Tiesto.
