‘Old Ideas’ is a 10-track 2012 album from legendary singer and poet whose career now spans six decades. It is his first studio album in over eight years and as well as this standard CD it’s also available on a ltd vinyl LP (1000 copies). The recording of ‘Old Ideas’ began in January 2011, although some of the songs and lyrics have been works in progress for years. Early versions of two tracks: ‘Amen’ and ‘Lullaby’ were originally recorded in 2007, while early versions of: ‘Lullaby’ and ‘The Darkness’ were performed during Cohen’s recent sold-out world tour. Complementing Cohen’s signature baritone on ‘Old Ideas’ are the exceptional vocalists Dana Glover, Sharon Robinson, The Webb Sisters and Jennifer Warnes. The album's cover design and drawings are by Cohen, and this highly anticipated album has been produced with Patrick Leonard, Anjani Thomas, Ed Sanders and Dino Soldo.
