For those who don’t know of Bekki Williams body of work… when she first arrived on the UK ‘EM’ scene in 1995 she was a bit of a sensation for fans who liked their melodies to be strong and their productions to be brash & powerful. She perfectly fitted that spot between the raw power and majesty of Mark Shreeve’s early solo work and the melodic, emotion fuelled grandeur of Andy Pickford – an artist that was undoubtedly a strong influence in her formative years as a synth musician!

This is a 2014 Remastered version of ‘Shadow Of The Wind’, Bekki’s 3rd album, the original of which received much critical acclaim upon its release back in 1997 for its epic, dune-swept musical vistas.
The album still has a real epic, almost filmic feel to it! The scope of the music is vast, filled with symphonic classical and slight Eastern elements allied to purposeful rhythmic bases from synthesizers, sequencers and drums.
Make no mistake; this is massively symphonic electronic music! It is full of infectious, heartfelt, romantic melodies and contemporary motifs, mostly riding along on a sharply focussed set of strong tunes and rhythms that create a huge, full and majestic set of soundscapes that are always addictive and easy on the ear.

Some of the music from ‘Shadow Of The Wind’ was originally penned to accompany a special screening of the Rudolf Valentino silent film classic 'The Son Of The Sheik' in conjunction with a special BBC Derby Cinema 100 Festival in 1996. Ashley Franklin of BBC Radio Derby once said of Bekki Williams “Here is music that is rich, melodious and soaringly soulful with a warmth and sensitivity that could only come from a woman”.

All the music from ‘Shadow Of The Wind’ was composed, performed and arranged by Bekki Williams, with production by Bekki Williams and David Wright.
