Multi-talented instrumentalist with a really nice album of music very much geared around the first few Virgin albums by Mike Oldfield!

We don’t know too much about Andrew Taylor except to say that he must be a huge fan of Mike Oldfield and obviously a talented multi-instrumentalist!
Using similar instrumentation - too many instruments to mention, but I’m certain there’s some Mellotron in there, and that’s something I don’t recall MO using at any point! The self engineered and produced album seems to be an entirely solo project, but with a small amount of outside assistance coming from Hugh Stanners (cello), John Mudd (bassoon) and Rose Moore (voice – I assume … the sleeve doesn’t list an instrument against her name!).

As this all implies, the album is totally influenced by the earlier works of one Mike Oldfield – ‘Tubular Bells’, ‘Hergest Ridge’, ‘Ommadawn’ etc., and Andrew’s debut CD: ‘Mohribold’ is inventive, melodious and well-produced – an extremely worthwhile effort that most Oldfield fans will derive a whole lot of pleasure from.

‘Mohribold’ comes nicely packaged in an illustrated Digi-Pak with the disc sporting a full-colour on-body label image.
