LUCY IN BLUE are a young band from Reykjavik in Iceland playing music that feels like it was released almost 50 years ago! The band line-up is: Arnaldur Ingi Jonsson (keyboards / vocals), Steinpor Bjarni Gislason (guitar / vocals), Matthias Hilfar Mogensen (bass guitar / vocals) and Kolbeinn Borsson (drums / percussion).

On a blind audition of this little gem you really would swear that you were listening to some long lost Prog album from the early psychedelic seventies, but no, this is a brand new band making music that sounds like members of early PINK FLOYD, CAMEL, CRIMSO and CARAVAN had got together to produce an album during that period!

The music is semi-instrumental and the effect-clad (English) vocals are very much in-keeping with the feel of the time. Good guitar sounds have not changed too much over the decades, but the keyboards here are definitely old-style, and together with a superb, warm and analogue production, it adds up to 40-minutes of pure vintage heaven!

This is one excellent album for lovers of the innovative new music of that certain time in rock history - It really does make you feel like your right back there and then some … Even the album’s playing time is much more in-keeping with the average length of a LP at that time, and you can also order it in the vinyl format too – in TURQUOISE!

If you were buying Progressive music back in the late 60’s / early 70’s, this excellent album is a total nostalgia trip that is well worth the taking for sure!
