This is a 2019 Double Disc Set featuring the live FM Broadcast Recording from Steve Hackett’s 1981 ‘Cured’ Tour and includes a recent half-hour interview!

The studio album ‘Cured’, Steve’s 5th solo album was released in 1981 and apart from contributions from Nick Magnus (keyboards) and Steve’s bother John (flute), it was primarily all sung, played and recorded by Steve himself in the studio, using an electronic Linn drum machine instead of a drummer. With the release of this 2019 Double CD set you now have the opportunity to hear many of the tracks from ‘Cured’ played by the full band.

The album's tour marked a line-up change with regular members John Hackett and Nick Magnus joined by Chas Cronk (STRAWBS - bass) and Ian Mosley (MARILLION – drums).
On 20th October 1981, this line-up performed at Cleveland's, Agora Ballroom, where they put on a quite an extraordinary show that was recorded for live FM radio broadcast across numerous US stations.

Previously Unreleased, the entire concert the group put on that mild autumn evening nearly forty years ago is featured here on this 2CD set. Sound quality can often be an issue on some of these licensed FM radio broadcast recordings, but there is no such problem with this one. The sound is smooth and clear from the start, and once the band get into their stride and the fine-tuning is done, a nicely balanced audio standard is set for the remainder of the set, just as most bands performing in a live setting would.

Adding to the show, there is a fantastic half-hour interview with Steve. The interviewer is English and I’m not sure when it was recorded, but going on some of the discussed subject matter, it is definitely post 2016.

So, a great value for money piece of Hackett history fans and collectors to enjoy.
