With a new limited run title released every month, the ‘Modular Sessions’ album releases are becoming a highly collectable series, and now buyers of any three from the first four issues will receive an even more exclusive bonus disc: ‘Modular Sessions: Bonus Alpha’ (details TBA).

‘Modular Sessions 4: Kronos’ continues the theme of Issue 3: ‘Wavestate’ using state of the art Wavestate, Kronos and Eurorack synths to create epic improvised rhythmic sequencer pieces.
This time the music runs continuously for over an hour, though it's sub-indexed with names from the Greek mythological Titans such as ‘Oceanus’ {The Sea}, ‘Coeus {Wisdom}’, and ‘Hyperion {Light}’.

There's a huge amount here to appeal to fans of the TANGERINE DREAM Sessions, Jean-Michel Jarre, Klaus Schulze and Vangelis. ‘Oceanus’ opens with ocean waves and choirs, while ‘Coeus’ multi-layers sequences, arpeggios and wailing synth lead lines. ‘Rhea’ has a Jarre-like Theremin lead, while ‘Mnemosyne’ {Memory} is a strikingly nostalgic vocoder poem. ‘Kronos’ is a Jarre-like arpeggiator workout, while ‘Themis’ is right in the middle of Klaus Schulze territory with sequences, drums, Mellotron choirs and a flowing Minimoog lead line.
The closing highlight of the album is the epic ‘Hyperion’ which is like some long-lost Ash Ra Tempel out-take, with multi-layered, melodic and screaming wah-wah lead guitars, 70's-style analog synths, sequencers and drums, all coming together into a crazed psychedelic high to close the album.

For ‘Kronos’, Mark Jenkins is one more again joined by drummer Dieter Niemand, who covers the styles of driving rock to orchestral and techno percussion on the album.
