‘Infinite Universes' follows on from Jim Ottaway’s well-received electronic album from 2022: ‘Somewhere In-Between’, and his international award-winning releases… ‘When Eternity Touches Time’, ‘Deep Space Blue’ and ‘Timeless E-Motion’.

About this artist and his influences…
Jim Ottaway composes and records all his music in his home studio situated at the foothills of the beautiful Springbrook Mountain on the Gold Coast, Australia. He first emerged at CDS Towers in the early noughties with his earlier Melodic Instrumental Space Ambient series of independent CD-R releases. More recently, as Jim's music started to become more widely known, his later themed releases have been manufactured as fully factory pressed productions packaged in Digi-Paks and Gate-Fold Card Sleeves, all stylishly presenting Jim's musical alter-ego as someone who injects 100% heart and soul into the music he makes, with great attention paid to detail as to how he presents it.

Many of Jim's albums have been nominated for awards, including a recent prestigious Schallwelle German Electronic Music Award at the 15th annual awards held in February 2023. Jim is the first Australian to be nominated and to win a Schallwelle Award.

While trying to create his own style of electronic music, Jim openly acknowledges the influence that other EM artists have had on him over the years. TANGERINE DREAM, Edgar Froese, ENIGMA, Vangelis, PINK FLOYD, Johannes Schmoelling, Christopher Franke, CODE INDIGO, Gary Wright, RADIO MASSACRE INTERNATIONAL and Aussie artists: Christopher Buckman, Tony O’Connor and Lisa Gerrard are all listed by Jim as major influential forces.

About this album…
Jim says that ‘Infinite Universes’ is the next natural progression in his series of Space Ambient / Electronic albums that include: ‘Threshold Of The Universe’ (2021), ‘Beyond The Purple Sun’ (2019), ‘Deep Space Blue’ (2017) and ‘Southern Cross’ (2016).
‘Infinite Universes’ consists of 9 Ambient Electronic Tracks all focusing on the beauty, wonder and complexities of the universe. The album also asks the question… “Could it be that our universe is just one part of a multitude of universes… an infinity of universes… a multiverse?” An intriguing question, indeed!

As with all of Jim’s albums, he states that the tracks on this album were chosen from many hours of recorded music he has in his music vault. From there he chooses tracks to best suit the theme of each album. Most tracks on ‘Infinite Universes’ were composed and recorded over the last few years, with some composed and recorded as early as 2008. However, all the tracks on the album have had additional layers were recorded and added over the last six months, before recording and production was completed in May 2023.

Equipment & software used for this production includes: RME Fireface 800, Studio One, Korg Karma, Yamaha MX49 & various VSTs. All tracks are composed, performed, produced and mastered by Jim Ottaway.

‘Infinite Universes’ is released at CDS on 28th July 2023.
