A BRIEF LOOK INTO THE CD SERVICES DEPARTMENT OF ROCK / HEAVY METAL MUSIC
Rock is BIG! In our Rock Music department you will find a variety of recordings selected from our main database of over 77,000 titles available in the category. The 'Rock' genre encompasses quite a large range of bands and solo artists, starting with the late 60's and moving all the way across four over decades of Rock to the present day.
Styles span from the Rolling Stones Pop-Rock of the 60's, through the 70's Heavy Rock pioneers that are: Black Sabbath, Deep Purple and Led Zeppelin, to 80's A.O.R. bands such as: Balance, Foreigner and Journey, then moving into the 'Nu-Metal' groups of the new millennium like Green Day and Muse, and a whole lot more.
So, while this is definitely the loudest, heaviest and most metallic section of the CDS online store, it's not all "head banging" and "moshing" either, because there's a fair bit of Melodic Rock included, as well as more than a healthy dose of A.O.R., plus you'll find quite a few Pop-Rock classics from the archives as well.
We're trying to cover as much ground as possible with this department; from the classics of the past to the present day, however, logistically speaking, we cannot list everything to cover all tastes all of the time, so for now, we must be selective in the range of titles we transfer from our home database to the online store, listing what we feel is the most relevant to what is selling for us at that time.
In future, we will be giving even more space over to this genre, but for now, just because it's not showing in our online database does not mean we can't supply it - the chances are we can, and the data is just waiting to be updated.

Like most of the other CD Services 'Specialist' departments, some of the titles in the Rock / Heavy Metal category have a certain element of "crossover" with other categories in the store, and here there are crossovers with the Euro / Kraut-Rock, General Rock & Pop, Industrial, Jazz-Rock / Fusion, Psychedelic / Space-Rock, Progressive / Symphonic-Rock and Oldies categories.
