From the man behind the highly successful limited edition ‘Modular’ series comes this exciting 2025 work recorded on the legendary T.O.N.T.O. system!

The name standing for “The Original New Timbral Orchestra”, T.O.N.T.O. is the huge expanded double Moog Modular synthesizer created by Malcolm Cecil and Robert Margouleff for two legendary TONTO’S EXPANDING HEADBAND Atlantic label albums: ‘Zero Time’ (1971) and ‘It's About Time’ (1974)!

Stopping only to feature the system in the Brian De Palma movie ‘Phantom Of The Paradise’, the duo went on to produce four groundbreaking albums with Stevie Wonder, and others with Gil Scott-Heron, Steve Hillage and many more.

Now music tech expert Mark Jenkins (‘Tubular Bells Fot The Moog Synthesizer’, ‘Dark Side Of The Moon For The Moog Synthesizer’) has been given exclusive access to the T.O.N.T.O. system in Canada to create this new album – ‘T.O.N.T.O. Lives!’.
Mark says, "The T.O.N.T.O. albums were among my first musical influences and their combination of great quirky melodies with wonderful electronic textures still stands up today. On this CD I've tried to capture the essential style of the Cecil & Margouleff albums while adding influences from other early Moog users like Isao Tomita, Larry Fast’s Synergy and Adrian Wagner".

‘T.O.N.T.O. Lives’ features 9 tracks running in at almost 56 minutes in total, all featuring the T.O.N.T.O. system alongside its built-in ARP Solina and 2600 Synths, Hohner Clavinet, vocoder, electronic and acoustic drums and sound effects.

It's a wonderful album for any Electronic Music enthusiast, filling the sequencer-driven stylistic gaps between TANGERINE DREAM, Vangelis, Jean-Michel Jarre, YELLOW MAGIC ORCHESTRA, KRAFTWERK and The ORB.
