This 5CD Set follows the ‘Phaedra’ 50th Anniversary Box and it’s a celebration of one of the band’s most pioneering and highest charting UK EM albums!

'Rubycon’ is one of TANGERINE DREAM’s most successful and acclaimed albums and this Limited Edition 5CD Clamshell Box Set pays homage to one of the most important electronic albums of all time!

This release is pretty much based on the same premise that the ‘Phaedra’ box released earlier in 2025 did, where the masters for the ‘In Search Of Hades’ boxed set have again been raided to provide the audio for this 50th Anniversary Edition of ‘Rubycon’ set, the only difference being that this time round it’s not Virgin/Universal that are producing it – It is the renowned experts in assembling beautifully curated and very collectable mini clamshell boxed sets – Cherry Red / Esoteric!

PLEASE NOTE: BEFORE YOU ORDER… Those of you who own the 2019 TD ‘In Search Of Hades’ 18-Disc Box Set will already have all the music that is featured in this ‘Rubycon 50th Anniversary’ Box’, as the music on all 5 Discs formed part of that massive ‘Hades’ collection. The Booklet will also share many images and probably a fair amount of the text with what was included in the ‘Hades’ book as well.
Mind you, given all that information, a whole lot of you TD fans out there who have the ‘Hades’ boxes, still bought the ‘Phaedra 50th Anniversary’ Box as well! So it looks like there are a lot of TD fans out there wishing to keep their collections 100% complete.

Widely regarded as one of their finest albums, ‘Rubycon’ was the band’s second album for Virgin Records and comprised two long pieces that pioneered the use of sequencers and synthesiser technology (including some amazing use of Mellotron choral sounds) and produced some of the finest ambient music ever recorded.
The record was also their highest UK charting release, reaching number 10 on the UK charts.

This new edition features the Remastered Original Stereo Mix, along with an extended introduction version of ‘Rubycon’ mixed by Steven Wilson. The set also features the complete concert recorded at The Rainbow in London in October 1974 spread over 2CDs, plus the complete concert at The Royal Albert Hall from April 1975 (which featured Michael Hoenig replacing Peter Baumann) also over 2CDs. The box also contains an extensively illustrated booklet and a new essay by TANGERINE DREAM expert Wouter Bessels.

‘Rubycon 50th Anniversary Box’ is released on 28th November 2025.
