‘Diary Of A Common Thread’ is a beautifully symphonic, vibrant, dramatic, descriptive, mind-picture painting work from the ex-TD keyboardist. This guy really is one of a kind and his music is unique among so many others in the German electronic music field today.
There is a huge amount of creativity going on here as Schmoelling’s striking synthesizer melodies, both attacking and sublimely majestic, soar well up-front in the well-structured, panoramic themes on display. The melodic structure of many of these tracks is often reminiscent of the period he played with TANGERINE DREAM, being as equally attention grabbing now as it was back then - and at times there is even a feel of Vangelis to much of the music!

At just under forty minutes, ‘Diary Of A Common Thread’ is not a long as the average electronic music CD these days, but each and every minute is pure quality! This album is packed full of listening pleasure and is indeed another superb piece of work from the maestro, and like so many of his past works, it comes thoroughly recommended by us at CDS Towers!
