This is the successful 2014 double disc set re-invention of some classic GENESIS tracks by Italian keyboardist Francesco Gazzara and some guests!

Italian pianist Francesco Gazzara re-invents 19 classic GENESIS tracks as instrumental pieces. His keyboard work was recorded at the Assunta Hall, inside Vatican City and then integrated with a small chamber orchestra.

Moving away from the usual "Genesis for piano" formula, the project now included a strings trio (violin, viola, cello) and a winds/horns trio (flute, soprano sax, bass clarinet), building a sort of imaginary soundtrack where so many details of the original masterpieces - even some of the hidden ones, hard to hear without a pair of decent headphones - have been painstakingly brought up on the surface and assigned to other unusual instruments.

The musician line-up for ‘Play Me My Song’ is:
Francesco Gazzara (keyboards / tambourine / bouzouki / arrangements / orchestrations / mixing), Giorgia Pancaldi (cello) and Dario Cecchini (flute / Saxophone / clarinet), with Giulia Nuti (Viola) and Fabrizio Paoletti (violin).
