Ridiculously addictive, elegant, melodic, neo-classical melodies from Germany for fans of Vangelis and Richard Vimal’s more symphonic, romantic styles!

The words from the album’s creator…
Forty years ago, when I was a PhD student in the Biology Department of the University of Freiburg, Germany, my LP entitled ‘Hirudo-The first Incarnation’ was released (October 1983, produced with my colleague Peter Fischer).
We were surprised that in the British press, and via Eurock-USA, our neoclassical Piano-Synth Prog Rock-Music was praised as an example for German innovation and unique style. 500 LPs were rapidly sold, mostly in the USA, so that our motivation to continue with the composition-recording of our own music was boosted.
In 1985, I left Germany to start a scientific career as an evolutionary biologist at Stanford University, California, USA. Three years later, I went back to Germany to work as Biology professor at different Universities, but always continued to play the piano and compose-record my own music. Peter likewise carried on as music producer, but our cooperation was over.

Now, 40 years later, my 6th album ‘Twitter In Paradise’ is released and available via CD Services - UK.
Essentially ‘Twitter In Paradise’ is produced in the style as ‘First Incarnation’, but with much more sophisticated piano-synth work. The title refers to the "evolution" of the "twitter bird", which has now been transformed to the letter "X", as illustrated on the booklet of the CD.
I have composed-recorded 8 new tracks for the album - mostly piano-based - that were produced by Roman Beilharz, a professional musician and creative composer himself. Some of the tracks are dedicated to important people, the most prominent of them being the British naturalist Alfred Russel Wallace (1823--1913), the "Man in the Shadow of Darwin". Wallace was the co-discoverer of the principle of natural selection, a humanist, author of 22 books, spiritualist, and father of the nature conservation movement.

Inspirations for my compositions and piano improvisations mainly come from classical music, but I also frequently create new melodies when I explore natural habitats of populations of organisms that I study as an evolutionary biologist in nature. In short: biology & music are my life!

And a few words from CDS…
The first thing I need to say is: don’t be swayed into thinking that this and the other U. Kutschera CD’s are pure piano albums - they are not - they contain beautifully well-balanced neo-classical piano and synthesizer material of the highest order, where both keyboards share the limelight in relatively equal measures!

This is truly elegant, often romantic styled EM that is nearer to the melodic, grandiose music also produced in the past by the great romantic synth masters such as Vangelis, Richard Vimal and even possibly Isao Tomita in a few places – it is also music that would easily fit the ethos of later day releases on the long gone German I.C. label!

There is a real refreshingly sensitive, emotional charm to the work of the musician U. Kutschera, a musician that was first exposed to the world by EM mail order stalwarts: Archie Patterson (Eurock – Oregon, USA) and Andy Garibaldi (Lotus Records, UK) when his first album was originally issued on vinyl LP in the early 80’s.

Eurock started it all off by selling hundreds of copies of ‘The First Incarnation’ vinyl LP when it was released in 1983. "The record is stunning …beautiful keyboard refrains, elegant piano work and melodic electronics blend into one of the most beautiful sets of neo-classical music you will hear" - Archie Patterson – 1983.

All these rare titles by U. Kutschera contain some form of magical musical ingredient that makes them addictive and therefore recommend to all those “music” lovers who like quiet, melodious, authentic compositions played in a style that is somewhat difficult to characterize at times, but utterly charming and hard to find fault with if I’m honest!

This, like all the other CD’s, is supplemented with a wonderful little booklet containing original artwork that features (un-published) drawings and paintings created by Uli’s father, the artist: Alfred Kutschera (1928–2004).
These simple, but joyously relaxed images pair perfectly with the beautiful music performed on each of the CD’s they represent, making each release a real family creation that must surely make this musician proud.

‘Twitter In Paradise’ is released on 1st October 2023.
