Yes, it’s the 7th studio album from keyboards maestro Nick Magnus and it comes packaged in a 6-Panel Fold-Out Card Sleeve together with a 24-Page Booklet.

Initially lots of Prog fans knew Nick Magnus as being the first keyboards player with Steve Hackett’s band after Steve’s departure from GENESIS, for many years contributing to Steve’s sound in both the ‘live’ and studio environments. Many also know him for his time working alongside Robert John Godfrey in the ENID and also with The KORGIS. His time with these bands have all provided Nick with the founding influences that are applied to the self-produced keyboards-driven Symphonic Prog that he so skilfully crafts - and is world-renowned for - today!

Recorded, mixed and mastered at Magick Nuns studio, all the music for ‘A Strange Inheritance’ was composed, arranged and produced by Nick Magnus (keyboards / synthesisers / percussion / tongue drum) and again, all the lyrics were penned by Dick Foster, who also delivered graphics production.

There’s another array of guest musicians and singers on hand as well: Tony Patterson (from REGENESIS) returns once more on vocals for two tracks, also Andy Neve makes his return on vocals, Steve Hackett usually puts in a performance, this time it’s on harmonica, John Greenwood from Australian Prog band UNITOPIA plays guitars, with Ginger Bennett and Louise Young providing vocals.
So what you’re getting is another melody fuelled epic production from Nick Magnus, the master of keyboards orchestrations and a whole lot more besides, so ‘Strange Inheritance’ promises to be another fine addition to a fan’s collection.

The concept for ‘A Strange Inheritance’ stemmed from an original idea Dick Foster and Nick Magnus had a few years back. Dick had toyed with the idea of writing a musical based on a fictional pirate called ‘Black Jack’, but having looked at the experience of the trials, tribulations and monumental expense others had gone through just trying to get such events off the ground, they decided instead to adapt the ideas from the original story into something similar - but different - that could work for a concept album… and here it is: ‘A Strange Inheritance’.

‘A Strange Inheritance’ contains eight new Magnus originals, including one epic instrumental piece.
‘An Almost Silent Witness’ opens the show and features an intriguing scene setting prologue by Dick Foster and features Nick on vocals, Andy Neve on backing vocals and Steve Hackett on harmonica.
‘Blood Money’ follows and features Tony Patterson for his first vocal part, with John Greenwood on nylon, 12-string and electric guitars.
‘Philadelphia’ features Nick on vocals, as does the following track: ‘At Sea At Night’.
‘Four Winds’ is an 8-minute all-instrumental track where Nick plays everything!
‘Welcome To The Island’ features Ginger Bennett on vocals with Nick doing backing vocals with added Shamanistic chants coming from the voice of Clara Sorace.
‘Black And Scarlet’ features Tony Patterson of REGENESIS for his 2nd vocal on the album, with Andy Neve, Louise Young and Nick covering backing vocals.
‘To Whom it May Concern’ closes ‘A Strange Inhertiance’ and features Louise Young on lead vocal with Nick and Louise sharing backing vocals.

‘A Strange Inheritance’ is released on 16th September 2024 and Pre-Orders are being taken now.
