Based on the extraordinary true story of Eric Liddell and Harold Abrahams, ‘Chariots Of Fire’ is an Olympic tale of hope, honour and belief. It was produced by David Puttnam, directed by Hugh Hudson, and Colin Welland wrote the screenplay. The incredible and iconic score was written, played and produced by Vangelis.
The film was set in 1924 during the Paris Olympic Games, where two young track athletes who live for the beautiful purity of running prevail in the face of overwhelming odds – A devout Scottish Christian runs for the glory of God and the son of an immigrant Lithuanian Jew runs to overcome prejudice.
