2013 Symphonic Progressive import from this majestic and magically melodic band from Sweden that are essential for CAMEL and SAGA fans alike!
‘Himlabacken-Vol.1’ is the 6th release from MOON SAFARI a band well known for three things among CDS Towers customers… 1 - the sheer melodic quality of their music, 2 - the exceptionally high standard of their playing, and 3 - the stunningly good vocals – and especially the fantastic close harmony work that can have the effect of widening the band’s audience much further a-field than just pure Progressive rock.
If you can imagine a melding of CAMEL (for guitars & keyboards) with SAGA (for keyboards), some SPOCK’S BEARD and FLOWER KINGS (for track construction) and a bit of Chris Rainbow (for the vocals and harmonies) you will be on the right track for how this band sound.
Playing a mixture of long to medium length tracks with a lot of extended instrumental passages and truly outstanding vocals, they are truly one of the finest Symphonic Prog bands around these days.
‘Himlabacken-Vol.1’ was mixed by Jonas Reingold (FLOWER KINGS, KARMAKANIC, TANGENT).
