International multi-award-winning Australian electronic musician & composer Jim Ottaway with his brand new 2026 melodic Ambient / Electronic album!
About this artist and his influences…
Jim Ottaway composes and records all his music in his home studio situated at the foothills of the beautiful Springbrook Mountain on the Gold Coast, Australia.
He first emerged at CDS Towers in the early naughties with his earlier Melodic Instrumental Space Ambient series of independent CD-R releases. More recently, as Jim's music started to become more widely known, his later themed releases have been manufactured as fully factory pressed productions packaged in Digi-Paks and latterly in Gate-Fold Mini-LP Style Card Sleeves, all stylishly presenting Jim's musical alter-ego as someone who injects 100% heart and soul into the music he makes, with great attention paid to detail and presentation.
While trying to create his own style of electronic music, Jim acknowledges the influence artists and bands such as: TANGERINE DREAM, Vangelis, Edgar Froese, ENIGMA, PINK FLOYD, Johannes Schmoelling, Christopher Franke, CODE INDIGO, Gary Wright, Steve Winwood and Aussie artists… Christopher Buckman, Tony O'Connor and Lisa Gerrard have had on his music over the years.
About this album…
‘Treasures Of Light’ features eleven electronic tracks reflecting different aspects of life. The tracks cover various sub-genres including “Berlin School” styles and melodic electronic.
The album is in a similar vein to his other award-winning releases such as: ‘A Promise Of Eternity’ (2024) and ‘Somewhere In-Between’ (2022). Jim compiled this album from tracks recorded as early as June 2008 and completed recording and production in May 2026.
